Abstract Submission Guidelines

We invite participants to submit abstract proposals for posters, presentations, and workshops to be presented at the 6th annual conference of the Peer-Led Team Learning International Society (PLTLIS). Posters, presentations, and workshops are intended to complement the conference theme: Integrating Research and Practice: PLTL in Action . This conference provides a unique stage to share pedagogical research, workshop modules and techniques, training methodologies for both Peer Leaders and Faculty/Professionals, and new avenues to approach the implementation of Peer-Lead Team Learning.

Posters should be ready to tack on and no larger than 3 feet by 4 feet. Presenters are expected to (1) be available for a discussion with conference participants during the designated poster session and (2) provide 50 copies of a handout, available near the poster, during the entire conference. Handouts should allow the participants to take-away the major purpose, process, and outcomes of the poster presentation.

Presentations are 30 minutes in length. Presentations may include demonstrations and/or audience participation. Educational research presentations are also welcome under this category. Presenters should provide 50 copies of a handout, available at the time of the presentation, and at a table in the main conference area.

Workshops are 45 minutes in length. Workshops should engage the audience in an activity. This activity can be focused on but are not limited to novel pedagogies in a Peer-Lead Workshop setting. Peer Leader, Faculty, and Professional Development Training workshops are also welcome. Presenters should provide 50 copies of a handout, available at the time of the presentation, and at a table in the main conference area.

Presenters supply much of their own materials, including handouts, and are responsible for all conference travel costs. The host will provide audio-visual technology for presentations. Requests for any other supplies needs to be requested at least three weeks before the start of the conference. Those requests may be sent to Jose Alberte, Conference Chair, jalberte@fiu.edu.

Please fill out and submit the presentation application, managed by EasyChair. The link is below. We have also provided a step by step guide on how to use EasyChair to submit your abstract. Information provided will be accessed by the Conference Abstract Review Committee. A response to your submission, including comments from the review panel, will be provided by the 18th of April. If you will need a quicker response, due to pending university funding, please send a request to Jose Alberte, Conference Chair, jalberte@fiu.edu.
