“Poster on the Hill” was a wonderful experience for Leslie Luna De Lara, Jim Becvar, Lourdes Echegoyen, and all of us hangers on. Leslie, from UTEP, was the only winning undergraduate from the whole of Texas. She presented the poster of the research she carried out with Ann Darnell and Jim Becvar, “Success in Large Introductory STEM Classes using Peer-Led Workshop.” I was quite amazed when I discovered that of the many academics, and representatives, their aides and interns, present, few knew what PLTL was. But Leslie is an expert salesperson, and this, coupled with the very positive results of the research, sealed the close attention of the many.
