Deidrah Carrillo

Deidrah Carrillo’s design was chosen as the winner for the Design contest, sponsored by the Board of the Peer-Led Team Learning International Society. She served as a Peer Leader in General Chemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso, Texas. Deidrah graduated from San Elizario High School in 2014, and served as Class President and Valedictorian. Upon entering the University of Texas at El Paso with a Presidential Excellence scholarship she planned to be a nurse, but was quickly drawn to the wonders of chemistry during her first semester taking General Chemistry. She changed her major in chemistry and will graduate in the spring of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. She plans to pursue a doctorate degree in chemistry to become a professor, in the hopes of making great discoveries and give back to the scientific community!
