Congratulations to Leslie Luna De Lara (Biology major, Peer Leader in General Chemistry II) and Dr. Jim Becvar, Professor of Chemistry at University of Texas, El Paso! Their poster, “Success in Large Introductory STEM Classes Using Peer-Led Workshop” was displayed at the Posters on the Hill 2012 event in the Rayburn House Office Building, in Washington, DC on April 24, 2012. This event is an opportunity for students and mentors to display their work to congressional representatives. The event is sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research, Washington, DC 20005, www.cur.org. UTEP’s poster was one of 74 selected from over 850 applications submitted to the Council on Undergraduate Research.
